Gardens for sloped and view lots
Hillside yards in Signal Hill can be tricky. Water runs off, soil erodes and flat space is limited. Raised beds and terraced garden beds solve all three. We level each bed, build retaining edges where needed and run drip lines so water soaks in instead of running downhill.
Sun and wind on the hill
Higher lots often get strong afternoon breezes. We place beds to take advantage of full sun while protecting tender crops, and we use sturdy trellises and stakes so tomatoes and climbing beans can handle the wind.
Compact and townhome gardens
Signal Hill has plenty of newer townhomes and smaller lots. Even a patio or side yard can produce herbs, greens and a dwarf citrus tree in raised planters or large containers with drip irrigation.
