Coastal growing done right
Close to the water, summers are mild and mornings are often gray. Cool-season crops like lettuce, kale, chard, peas, beets and herbs do wonderfully here for much of the year. For summer crops, we choose tomato and pepper varieties that ripen without extreme heat, and place beds where they catch the most afternoon sun.
Fixing sandy soil
Sandy coastal soil drains fast and holds few nutrients. Raised beds filled with a compost-rich organic blend give your plants the soil they need from day one, and drip irrigation keeps moisture steady.
Small Old Town lots
Old Town Seal Beach lots are often narrow. We design compact gardens with vertical growing, raised planters and container fruit trees so even a small patio produces.
